Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia' Al-Sudani received today, Sunday, the delegation of the Gulf Union for Media.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister listened to the delegation members' remarks and their views on Iraq's ongoing development and reconstruction efforts. He highlighted the significant role of media, arts, and sports in strengthening bonds between nations, emphasizing their impact on communication and cultural exchange. He also referenced the success of Gulf Cup 25, held in Basra, as a testament to the unity, brotherhood, and interaction among the participating nations.
Al-Sudani stressed the importance of media in conveying an accurate and truthful representation of events and issues, particularly those of interest to the Arab public. He underscored the need for responsible and objective journalism, free from misinformation that serves narrow agendas. He reaffirmed that media plays a crucial role in building modern societies, shaping their future, and contributing to sustainable development.
For their part, the delegation members expressed their appreciation for the Iraqi government's support of media and cultural initiatives. They also conveyed their gratitude for the warm reception and hospitality they experienced in Iraq.
